A Source of Pride

I have mentioned in recent weeks that Lorne has a ‘family feel’ about it. Like any family, it is very much a part of the local community. It is a source of pride to us that we play our part – we have adopted local charities and raised a lot of money both from within the company and via its activities at exhibitions and congresses (see the item about the Teddies below).

It’s also not unusual to hear colleagues talking about their families and their community activities. We reported earlier in the year about Richard and his role as Santa (something of a regular occurrence for the Fleet Lions). I was delighted to hear from Pauline about her daughter’s upcoming participation in the Reading Half-Marathon. Gaynor is running on behalf of an excellent local charity and I know that there is a sense of pride in the Lorne family when we hear about such great efforts.

In the absence of donning my running shoes and having an extended jog, I think I will take the easier path and make a donation. Well done Gaynor. It is a great effort from a member of the extended Lorne family, and it is in aid of a wonderful local charity. We wish Amelia and her family every success in the coming months.
