Lorne’s two delivery partners for UK deliveries, XDP Express and The Royal Mail, are putting contingencies in place to prevent any major delays during this period. Lorne use XDP Express for their larger packages and The Royal Mail for their smaller packages. XDP have reassured the nation that the Olympics will not cause too many delays in their delivery schedule. XDP are being as flexible as they can to accommodate their customers’ needs. They will offer a temporary Olympics delivery depot for late night and early morning deliveries. The Royal Mail has also reassured us that they will be flexible during the Olympics. They have stated that they will be starting their post rounds at an earlier time during this period and they will be adding new routes to their network to speed deliveries up. The only change for the Royal Mail is that they cannot guarantee that special delivery items will specifically arrive before 1pm and can only promise next day delivery. Lorne would like to remind its customers that the NHS has predicted lower levels of blood donation during the Olympics. It is a genuine worry for the NHS and those responsible for blood stock. The NHS will be preparing a stockpile of blood donations but they will need all the help they can get. So please remember, give blood, even the finely tuned athletes may need it.
